As part of this effort, a special nine-member committee constituted to draft measures for the assistance, protection, and empowerment of these students has officially submitted its report. Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil shared this development following a detailed review meeting held at Mantralaya regarding the committee’s findings for the proposed ‘Educational Support, Protection, and Empowerment Policy-2026.’ During the session, the report was formally presented to Higher Education Director Dr. Shailendra Deolankar and Joint Director Dr. Archana Borhade by the panel’s leadership.Expert Panel Conducted StudyThe nine-member expert committee was formed under the leadership of Dr. Hemlata Bagla, Vice-Chancellor of HSNC University, and comprised college principals, legal experts, and social activists to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of the challenges involved. Palghar, Maharashtra: A 75-year-old man died in a road accident at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in Palghar on Monday morning after his two-wheeler reportedly went over an uneven portion of the road and he fell onto the carriageway. The deceased, identified as Brijkmohan Bholaram Nirmal, a resident of Tembhode, was travelling from Manor towards Palghar at around 11 am. The accident took place near the police outpost at the junction.According to people at the spot, Nirmal lost his balance while negotiating a pothole and fell from his two-wheeler. A container truck travelling behind him subsequently ran over him, resulting in fatal injuries. He died at the spot.The accident occurred near a recently constructed free-left lane at the junction.
