Renfe to go on strike: Major travel disruption alert in Spain

Renfe train drivers have called a 24-hour strike for Wednesday October 29 , raising the risk of cancellations and delays across Spain’s rail network, including Cercanías services (commuter trains) that many residents rely on for daily travel. The Sindicato de Maquinistas Semaf announced the action this Friday. It will run from 00:01 to 23:59 and covers all driving staff in the Renfe Group. Source

Veteran Nigerian actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has criticised the entitlement mentality of the Nigerian society, lamenting that the country now has a culture of begging. Speaking in a recent episode of Activating Success With Love Idoko, the movie icon said she doesn’t support or encourage begging in any form except if it is a life-and-death situation. According to her, there is no reason anyone can’t work. She said, “A lot of Nigerians take opportunities for granted. And one thing we have to understand is that nobody owes you anything. Nigerians now have a culture of begging. “I don’t support or encourage begging. I believe that there is no reason why anybody can’t work. There is something you can do. There is a kind of value you can bring to humanity. “Everybody has needs, including me. There are some needs I have that if I was entitled I would go and beg certain people. “So, don’t feel like because you don’t have money like me, you are the only one who has a reason to beg. At every level, we all have needs. But we are all struggling through it. Even if you have to beg, it should be a life-and-death situation.” Omotola added, “Try as much as you can not to beg and be a nuisance. Begging reduces your own self-worth. Real Madrid demand resignation of LaLiga president

Real Madrid have called for the resignation of Javier Tebas as LaLiga president. This follows remarks made by Tebas, in which he compared Madrid’s methods with that used by Nazi propaganda chief, Joseph Goebbels. Tebas also alleged that some journalists were the “official mouthpiece” of the club used to air opinions and grievances. “That method recalls propaganda mechanisms exploited by Goebbels, Nazi Germany’s Minister of Propaganda: systematic repetition, construction of an enemy, and subordination of facts to the narrative,” he wrote on social media.
