The actor confirms that they will finally witness it in the series finale of Strange New Worlds. The Strange New Worlds cast brings iconic Enterprise characters together Wesley told ScreenRant that his favorite memory of playing James T. Kirk came when the entire USS Enterprise crew stood together on set for the show’s final episode. The actor called the experience “truly magical.” The scene follows Paramount+’s announcement that Thomas Jane joins the cast as Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy, while Kai Murakami appears as Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu. Both characters debut in the finale, completing Kirk’s crew alongside Ethan Peck’s Spock, Celia Rose Gooding’s Uhura, Martin Quinn’s Scotty, and Jess Bush’s Nurse Chapel. Ensign Pavel Chekov does not come until Star Trek: The Original Series Season 2. Wesley described the on-set energy with enthusiasm. He quipped, “I will say, it was announced, as you guys know, that we cast Bones and we cast Sulu. We obviously have Spock, and I will say without giving anything away that there was something truly magical about having these characters on screen together. Our own version of it.” Further adding, “When we were on set, I was like, ‘Wow, there’s something magical here. There’s something working.’ The chemistry’s on point, and certainly, that was the case for The Original Series, and I think we have a bit of a semblance of that as well.” Star Trek: Strange New Worlds wrapped filming its fifth and final season last December.
