Nihal Sarin responded to an X user who told him to “play for Pakistan” after India’s Open team won silver at the Chess Olympiad, replying simply, “on board 0?” Nihal’s tournament was mixed, with five points from nine games after a strong start and two consecutive losses in the middle. India finished runners-up to Uzbekistan.
