A presidential aspirant of the Action Alliance, AA, Joseph Faduri, on Thursday insisted that the Labour Party (LP) won the 2023 presidential election. Faduri disclosed this while recalling how he informed the then LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi, that he would win after handing over the party’s flag to him. Recall that Obi came third behind former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and eventual winner President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had announced Tinubu of the APC as the winner of the election after he polled 37 percent of the votes, while Atiku got 29 percent and Obi got 25 percent. However, Faduri, while featuring on Arise Television’s Morning Show, said: “My name is Joseph Faduri, for those who are seeing me for the first time. “In 2022, I was the one who handed over the ticket to run for the election under the Labour Party, and I was here also to inform Nigerians that LP would win that election. “And, like a joke, at the end of the day, we had Labour Party win that election.” Faduri also spoke about INEC Chairman Joash Amupitan not recognising a court order acknowledging Kenneth Udeze as the authentic leader of the AA. He added: “Now, the court order that Amupitan was referring to was the court order of a High Court in Osogbo. The Federal Capital Territory Senator, Ireti Kingibe, has fired back at the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, stating that she cannot be intimidated by insults, threats or political pressure. In a post on her verified X handle on Thursday, Senator Kingibe said her responsibility as a senator representing the people of the FCT is to ask questions, demand accountability and defend the constitutional principles upon which Nigeria’s democracy stands. Her comment stemmed from Wike’s outburst, in which he described her as illiterate and re-echoed his threat that the lawmaker would not be elected to the Senate in 2027. The political fight between them followed a remark by the senator, who, in an interview on national television, accused Wike of obtaining a loan for the FCT without the Senate’s approval. The senator also dared Wike to show the people of the FCT evidence of the National Assembly’s approval for the loan. “I have never been one to be intimidated by insults, threats or political pressure, and I will not start now. ‘Minimum wage person dead already’ — TG Omori laments kidney treatment cost

Nigerian music video director, TG Omori has opened up about the cost of his kidney failure treatment, saying a minimum-wage earner would struggle to afford even one dialysis session. Omori made the disclosure during a recent interview aired on September 23, 2026, on the Afropolitan podcast, where he reflected on his experience with kidney failure and the financial demands of his treatment while awaiting a transplant. He said a dialysis session costs between N50,000 and N70,000 at some hospitals, while he paid between N150,000 and N200,000 at a private facility. According to him, patients may require three sessions weekly, taking the cost to between N500,000 and N600,000 every week. “So, a minimum-wage person is dead already on one session,” Omori said. He estimated that continuing dialysis for about a year while waiting for a transplant could cost as much as N31 million, excluding additional tests, medication and possible complications. Omori said the financial burden could also overwhelm someone earning N1 million monthly. “So, automatically, if your salary is even one million naira a month, it can’t serve you,” he said.
