Must See First Teaser for 'Tangles' Animated Film About Alzheimer's

"I don't think I can be in two places at once." IFC has unveiled a terrific teaser trailer for indie animation film titled Tangles, one of the best animated films of 2026. This originally premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival to many positive reviews (here's mine) and it'll debut in theaters starting in December playing into January for the awards season. A young woman is forced to return to the conservative small town where her bizarre family still lives to take care of her mother, having to deal with the cruel reality of her mom's Alzheimer disease (and tragedy of dementia) and become the daughter they need. Just as Sarah finds love & independence in 1990s San Francisco, a visit home reunites her with her vibrant mother Midge. But when Midge is diagnosed with Alzheimer's, Sarah discovers that while family is never simple, the ties that bind us — through laughter, heartbreak and joy — endure even as memories begin to fade. Featuring the voices of Abbi Jacobson as Sarah, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Midge, Bryan Cranston, Beanie Feldstein, Seth Rogen, and Samira Wiley. This is a seriously moving and impressive animated film that goes above and beyond the animation style to tell a heartbreaking yet uplifting & beautiful story about Alzheimer's & family. Here's the first teaser trailers (+ […]
