Mourinho was defending Vinicius Junior’s poor form, insisting that the out-of-form winger is trying his best. Vinicius Jr has been booed by sections of the Madrid fanbase as he struggles for form this season, after turning down a summer move to Arsenal. According to Mourinho, he would only have a problem with players that are not putting in enough effort. Mourinho has vowed not to even include them in his match day squads. He said: “I promise you, when a Real Madrid stops behaving like a Real Madrid player, you will not even get a chance to boo him. “And that’s because he won’t even get to sit on the bench.” LaLiga: I won’t even put you on the bench – Mourinho warns Real Madrid players

2027: It is moral obligations for north to vote for Tinubu, APC – Alhassan Doguwa

The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Downtown Stream and Leader of the Northern Caucus in the Green Chamber, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has said Northern Nigeria has a responsibility to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and ensure the victory of other All Progressives Congress, APC, candidates. Doguwa stated this in a statement he personally signed, describing support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition as a “moral political obligation” for the people of Northern Nigeria. “Working for President Tinubu’s re-election is a moral political obligation on the people of Northern Nigeria,” he said. He added that Northerners must unite in support of the President to sustain peaceful coexistence in the country. “We must rise individually and collectively to unconditionally vote for Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term for the continuous peaceful coexistence of our great country, Nigeria,” Doguwa said. He spoke on Saturday when APC members, area supervisors and council advisers from Doguwa paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Kaduna. According to the lawmaker, the visit was part of strategic preparations for the forthcoming general elections in his Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency. Doguwa also expressed optimism that Tinubu would secure substantial support from the North in the next election, describing regional votes as crucial to the President’s re-election bid. He added that the solidarity he receives daily indicates that, despite what he described as propaganda, the North remains firmly behind Tinubu and other APC candidates. 2027: It is moral obligations for north to vote for Tinubu, APC – Alhassan Doguwa

LaLiga: ‘What Lionel Messi taught me’ – Diego Simeone

Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone has revealed what he learnt from Lionel Messi. Speaking to journalists prior to Atletico’s LaLiga game against Deportivo Alaves, Simeone expressed his appreciation to Messi over his contributions to Argentina and acknowledged that the Inter Miami forward showed him the virtues of perseverance and competitive determination. He said, “As an Argentine, I am grateful to him for everything he gave us, because he gave us so much joy, but above all for what he taught us, because he taught us to fight and, when things go badly, to keep insisting. And that is Messi’s greatest value for Argentines, at least for me.” When asked to select between Diego Maradona and Messi for Saturday’s league fixture or a singular championship match, Simeone declined to make a direct comparison between the two athletes and remarked: He added, “I am not going to get into the easy, demagogic game of choosing one of them. I was lucky enough to play with Maradona and I was not lucky enough to play with Messi. The truth is that we Argentines are grateful to have had two extraordinary footballers, the best in history. “Messi, for his insurmountable numbers. The growth he has shown as a person and as a sportsman has broken every possible barrier, because he has always handled it from a position of respect and good behaviour, and that is difficult to maintain for 20 or 25 years, I do not even know how many years he has been playing now.” Lionel Messi concluded his international career in a friendly match against Benin in front of a capacity audience in Buenos Aires. The 39-year-old provided two assists and scored one goal as Argentina achieved a decisive 3-0 win. LaLiga: ‘What Lionel Messi taught me’ – Diego Simeone
