Former Chief of Staff and a political ally of ex Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Alhaji Bashir Sai’du, has promised to deliver Zazzau emirate to the All Progressives Congress(APC) in the coming elections, to demonstrate his political clout. Alhaji Bashir, who recently defected from the African Democratic Congress(ADC) with his teeming supporters, gave this assurance when the Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs, Hon Isa Lawal visited him at his residence. Speaking during the visit, Alhaji Bashir pledged his full commitment to APC, adding that he will prove to those who said that he left ADC alone, that he defected with thousands of his supporters to the ruling party. Alhaji Bashir who was also Commissioner of Finance during the last administration, said that the result of the coming election will be different in Zaria local government, vowing to exceed past records. He promised that the APC will get more votes in Zaria than what the people gave President Buhari in past elections, adding that there are about 3,091 like-minds who are card carrying members of ADC from Lere local government that are on their was to joining APC. The former Chief of Staff who spoke in Hausa, also said that there are about 4,000 such people in some local governments, vowing that those people who doubt his capacity will witness his strength. ‘’I will not boast about my capacity in other areas but in the 11 local governments of Zazzau emirate, we will show our strength and no one has the kind of followers that we have,’’ he said. 66th Independence: Kaduna Imam prays for Nigeria, Tinubu, Uba Sani

Kaduna State Government has organised special prayers for peace, stability and economic prosperity of Nigeria at Sultan Bello mosque, as part of the 66th Independence Day celebration, which will culminate in a parade on October 1st. Led by the Deputy Chief Imam, Malam Abdullahi Aliyu, the supplications were made after the Jumaat prayer, which had the Secretary to Kaduna State Government, Dr AbdulKadir Muázu Meyere, senior Government officials and Muslim faithful in attendance. The Deputy Chief Imam prayed to Allah(SWT) to grant President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, wisdom and guidance to steer the affairs of the country and Kaduna State respectively . Malam Abdullahi also called on political leaders and citizens to uphold trust, truthfulness and integrity to drive national development, reminding that political office and worldly power are temporary. “God tests us with trust, our wealth, our families, and the positions He has given us, whether big or small, to see how we will manage them—whether or not we will act with honesty, truthfulness and fairness,’’ he said. The Islamic cleric emphasized that honesty is a divine obligation which is applicable in both governance and commercial activities. “Whatever we do, whether in commerce or governance, we must ask if there is trust and truthfulness in our actions. If a person maintains trust, God elevates his status in this world. The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has alleged a plot to gag him on social media due to road projects in the South-East. He made the remark while denying claims that he cornered federal road projects to the South-East. The minister spoke during the inspection of the Trans-Sahara Highway, which starts from Afikpo in Ebonyi State, traverses Ado in Benue State, Nsukka, parts of Kogi State and terminates at Owete Bridge in the Federal Capital Territory. He said: “They want to gag me on social media when they say I cornered all the road projects to the South-East. That is very wonderful. But we have publication of all projects ongoing. “So, I’m not on my own. The President is my boss.
