Kinetix Strength Studio opens at The Podium with a Hybrid Race Simulation
The newest brand from the Strength in Movement Group marked its official opening by putting hybrid racers through a four-station test of strength and stamina. Kinetix Strength Studio (KSS) officially opened on Oct. 13, 2026, on the 4th floor of The Podium in Ortigas. KSS comes from the Strength in Movement (SIM) Group, the same team behind Kinetix Lab, Kinetix+, Kinetix Kids, Kinetix Kitchen, and Polarity Wellness Club. Each one covers a different side of training and recovery, from sports science-led strength and conditioning to physiotherapy. KSS brings group strength training into the mix. Strength Built in a Crew “At KSS, we believe that strength is a group sport,” said Coach Marc Amil, branch manager of Kinetix Strength Studio. Members train in a crew, and a coach stays nearby to check form and keep the pace up. “We focus on the social side of strength training, giving each person the experience of being part of a team through our signature and hybrid classes,” Coach Marc said. KSS also works closely with its sister brands, so the coaching follows the same sports science approach. In Coach Marc’s words, “our classes are grounded in science and led by coaches with backgrounds in sports science.” Classes for Every Level Beginners train in the same classes as advanced and elite athletes. “Our classes are designed around a strength cycle, so everyone can progress at their own pace,” he explained. Outside of class, members can use open gym time set up for hybrid sports simulation. “Our hybrid open gym time lets athletes experience a race-like environment, which helps them prepare for upcoming events,” he added. Outside of class, members can use open gym time set up for hybrid sports simulation. “Our hybrid open gym time lets athletes experience a race-like environment, which helps them prepare for upcoming events,” he added. Racing on Day One The event began with a ribbon cutting, then moved into a friendly race simulation with some invited hybrid sport enthusiasts and racers. They participated in the Record Breakers Physical Fitness Test Hybrid Race Simulation. Before the first wave of participants hit the turf, SIM Group’s group training supervisor coach Antish Gaspar briefed the attendees and conducted a warm-up session. Racers ran in pairs across three waves. Each pair had to clear four stations in order. The course opened with a 500-meter run, then a 250-meter SkiErg. Next came a 15-meter sled push, with women pushing 102 kilos and men pushing 152 kilos. The last station called for 15 dumbbell squat thrusts using 15-pound dumbbells for women and 25-pound dumbbells for men. Coaches manned every station to count reps and step in when racers needed help, while DJ Vant kept the room pumped with a race-ready set. James Licauco and Keano Aniban posted the fastest time of the day to take first place. Ice Escarilla and Simon Abraham finished as runners-up. After the final wave crossed the finish line, racers swapped sleds and SkiErgs for something slower. KSS coaches led guests on an Afterparty Tour of the studio, with recovery stops set up along the way. “We promise a full experience that combines the excitement of team sports with personal athletic growth,” Coach Marc shared. “What makes us different is the fun and positive energy we bring.” Partners Behind the Launch Partners for the launch included H Proper Coffee Roasters, Coze Skin, Zeal, Fox’s Candy, and Nike Perfume, with support from SIM Group brands Polarity Wellness Club, Kinetix Lab, Kinetix+, and Kinetix Kitchen. Kinetix Strength Studio is located on the 4th floor of The Podium, Ortigas Business District, Mandaluyong City.
