The upcoming supernatural film is based on a viral 2022 YouTube short film. On October 1, 2026, it was announced that Golden Globe and Emmy nominee Chase Infiniti will feature in Dylan Clark’s Portrait of God. This news was shared by Adam Fogelson, the chairman of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. In the official press release, Fogelson said, “With Sam and Jordan, two of the genre’s most influential producers, the extraordinary Chase Infiniti starring, and Dylan at the helm, this is an exceptional creative team. We believe they have all the ingredients for a film that is haunting, thought-provoking, and scary as hell.” Infiniti delivered a massive breakout performance as Willa in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Oscar Best Picture winner One Battle After Another, earning critical acclaim and dozens of awards. She also stars as Agnes MacKenzie in Hulu’s dystopian drama The Testaments, with additional credits including Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent and the upcoming feature The Julia Set, which she also produced. Dylan Clark expands his Lionsgate relationship with another horror project Writer-director Dylan Clark first released Portrait of God as a 7-minute short film in 2022, featuring Sydney Brumfield. Clark is now expanding the short film into a full-length feature after Lionsgate acquired and greenlit the project. However, this is not the only project that ties him to the studio. Previously, it was revealed that Clark would make his feature film directorial debut with The Blair Witch Project reboot for Lionsgate and Blumhouse Atomic Monster. He is also working on the screenplay alongside Joe Russo, which was originally written by Chris Devlin. In the press release, Clark expressed his enthusiasm by saying, “With Blair Witch, I’m experiencing firsthand the trust Lionsgate places in its filmmakers, and I couldn’t be happier that Portrait of God has found a home there as well. I’m also thrilled to welcome Chase Infiniti to our team. She blew me away in One Battle After Another and is one of the most exciting young actors working today.” In addition to Raimi and Peele, the film will be produced by Rob Tapert, Russo, and Win Rosenfeld. Chris Rosati will serve as executive producer, with Scott O’Brien overseeing production for the studio.
