John Bradley in Holiday Comedy 'Merry Christmas Aubrey Flint' Trailer

"The greatest gift you could give someone is a story." Signature Ent. revealed the official UK trailer for the movie Merry Christmas Aubrey Flint, a feel-good holiday comedy from the UK ready for release over there this fall. No US date yet - but if this film is good enough it'll play in the US soon. An amateur version of A Christmas Carol at a retirement home is reluctantly directed by reclusive man named Aubrey Flint sent there on community service. When the show is threatened and a close friend is lost, Aubrey must choose between retreating into solitude or risking everything to save the home—and rediscovering the warmth he thought he'd lost forever. From the streets of York to a makeshift stage, Aubrey not only realizes the power of the local community but also rediscovers the magic of the season. This heartwarming movie stars John Bradley as Aubrey Flint, joined by Celia Imrie, Richard E. Grant, Adjoa Andoh, Karl Pilkington, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, and the voice of Jim Broadbent as Dickens. It looks like an actual attempt at a fun new A Christmas Carol remake, taking a regular ol' curmudgeonly guy & showing him how to find joy again. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Jack Spring's Merry Christmas Aubrey Flint, from YouTube: A little community spirit can go […]

New UK Trailer for Simon Stone's 'Elsinore' Film Starring Andrew Scott

"If you're going to play this part, there is to be no more talk of death." "That might be tricky..." Studiocanal unveiled their own new official UK trailer (here's the US one) for acclaimed LGBTQ indie drama Elsinore, the story of actor Ian Charleson. Directed by fellow actor Simon Stone, it premiered at the 2026 Telluride Film Festival and also played at TIFF, next screening at the London, Mill Valley, Montclair, Chicago Film Festivals this fall. The powerful, vividly emotional and inspiring story of the actor Ian Charleson who faced incredible odds and a tragic AIDS diagnosis while preparing to give the performance of his life in Hamlet at the National Theatre in London. TIFF adds: "Andrew Scott delivers a career-best performance in Elsinore, wondrously celebrating both Charleson and Hamlet on screen. Through Scott, each real and fictional man’s confrontation with death becomes visceral, profoundly moving, and resoundingly answers Shakespeare's famed question with 'to be.'" Andrew Scott stars with Olivia Colman, Billie Piper, Johnny Flynn, Joe Locke, Peter Mullan, Charles Edwards, and Juliet Stevenson. This is a better trailer than the other one and teases a magnificent look at a genuinely soulful & vibrant individual striving to live a "glorious" life. Here's the new official UK trailer for Simon Stone's film Elsinore, direct from Studiocanal's YouTube: You can rewatch the […]

"At Video Castle, we have a selection fit for a King! Or a Queen!" Reel Splatter Productions has revealed the first look teaser trailer for an indie horror creation called Dead Format, which is finishing up and getting ready for release in 2027. Not to be confused with the video game also called Dead Format, while both are about VHS, this one is a feature film not a game. Both look good anyway! During the final days of the video store era, a collector desperately clinging to the past while grieving his father's death finds a mysterious tape at his local video store and discovers that nostalgia can come at a terrible price. It's set at a place called the Video Castle – and it definitely reminds me of video stores I used to frequent as a kid. The indie horror film stars Mark Worth as Kevin, Joey Cook, Austin Greene, Fia Thomson, Mia Grichendler, Henry Sirota, Chet Williamson, Matt Lake. Made by Reel Splatter with lots of practical FX and old school VHS vibes all over the place. Something about a cursed VHS tape? Keep an eye out for this one landing next year. Official US Trailer for 'The Remotes' Sci-Fi Neo-Noir from Philippines

"Just keep driving." Our friends at The Film Stage have unveiled the first trailer for the film The Remotes, an intriguing Filipino sci-fi mystery thriller made by filmmaker John Torres based in Manila. This played at the New York Film Festival and it also played a TIFF this fall. The intro explains: "Fashioned in part as a response to the Philippines’ longtime president Rodrigo Duterte's 'war on drugs' and the country's resultant surveillance state, Torres's drifting, impressionistic film expands and compresses time..." Called a sinister "sci-fi-tinged neo-noir", the film follows a grieving detective who investigates two sisters linked to a sinister navigation app, only to find himself slowly surrendering to the unseen voices controlling the city and his own lingering sorrow. Starring Alchris Galura, Gabby Padilla, Julia Richards, and Enchong Dee. Director John Torres adds: "The Remotes is about how longing can become infrastructure. How grief stifles us while technology listens in & automates our choices in life. It is a world where people willingly surrender to it because it brings them closer to someone they lost, or someone they used to be." Yep that sounds pretty sad and this looks pretty good – especially for fans of slow cinema and experimental art house genre films. Here's the festival trailer (+ poster) for John Torres' sci-fi film The Remotes, from YouTube […]
