Jack Reacher Creator Has Perfect Response to The Boys’ NSFW Alan Ritchson Show Joke
Photo Credit - Prime Video The Boys has never been shy about making crude jokes, and even Jack Reacher became a target during the show’s final season. However, Reacher creator Lee Child has taken the joke as a compliment rather than an insult. According to ScreenRant, in the first episode of Season 5, former superhero The Worm is shown writing a script for Reacher. The scene describes Reacher as “massive” before a woman comments on his size. The scene then takes a more NSFW turn, playing on the character’s reputation for his imposing physique. I mean, seriously, that is the thing you hope for: first of all, you write a book and some people buy it, and then it becomes a well-known book series. And then at some other, later point, which for Reacher was probably about eight or ten years into the book series, he then migrates outward into the general culture. I just love that people know who he is and would want to make a joke about him. That’s fantastic,” Child said. The Boys may be over, but a new prequel show is on the way Lee Child explained that seeing Reacher referenced outside his own books and television series is a sign of how far the character has come. He said his hope was always for the character to become recognizable enough to exist beyond the original novels. The Boys has ended after five seasons, but its universe will continue with Vought Rising. The new series will explore the early days of Vought and follow a murder mystery involving the company and it

Showrunner Eric Kripke has described it as a darker, noir-inspired story with the same irreverent tone as The Boys. Vought Rising is expected to premiere on Prime Video in 2027. The Reacher franchise will continue with Season 5, while Lee Child’s 31st novel, Chain Reaction, is scheduled for release on October 20, 2026.
