BSE has been included in the Nifty 50 after its six-month average free-float market capitalisation came in at Rs 1,40,879 crore. This is at least 1.5 times the six-month average free-float market capitalisation of the smallest constituent in the eligible universe, Wipro, whose average free-float market capitalisation stood at Rs 55,930 crore, according to the NSE release in August.

Trump orders US agencies to rename AI ‘Super Intelligence’

United States President Donald Trump has signed an executive order directing federal agencies to replace the terms “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI” with “Super Intelligence” and “SI” in official government communications. The order, signed on Tuesday, instructs executive departments and agencies to adopt the new terminology in official correspondence, public communications, websites, reports, policy documents and other non-statutory materials. According to the order, the change is intended to reflect the rapid advancement of the technology and the capabilities of modern systems, which the administration says now extend beyond the tasks originally associated with artificial intelligence. The order stated that technologies being developed by American innovators have surpassed what was envisaged when the term “Artificial Intelligence” was introduced, with advanced systems increasingly amplifying human creativity and capabilities. However, the directive does not require previously issued regulations, presidential actions, contracts, grants or historical government documents containing the term “Artificial Intelligence” to be altered. Trump’s Assistant to the President for Science and Technology was also directed to work with relevant government agencies and submit proposed legislative language within 60 days to establish a federal definition for “Super Intelligence” and “SI.” Trump had earlier announced the terminology change while unveiling the America.gov website, arguing that the word “artificial” did not adequately describe the capabilities of the technology. “When you say artificial intelligence, it’s artificial. This is extreme intelligence. It’s superior intelligence. It’s supreme also intelligence, but the word super is the best word of all and it’s the simplest,”

Kidnapping: Edo judge urges residents to install CCTV in homes, businesses

Justice Terry Momodu Aigbona of the Edo State Special Criminal Court has urged residents to install closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in their homes, shops, vehicles and business premises to help tackle crime. DAILY POST reports that the judge made the call on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, in Benin City, while sentencing four kidnappers to death by hanging. Aigbona commended those who installed CCTV cameras at the vegetable market along Airport Road, Benin City, saying the system contributed greatly to the arrest of kidnappers who abducted a woman at the market on June 14, 2026. He said CCTV was no longer a luxury but a necessity for security. “I commend those who installed the CCTV system at the vegetable market. That helped to capture the scene of the vegetable market incident on June 14, 2026. “That singular act of installing CCTV on the premises provided evidence that assisted the police in the detection and proof of the crime that took place at the Vegetable Market. I commend you. “In this age where crime has become sophisticated, I encourage all residents of Edo State to endeavour to acquire and install CCTV cameras in their homes, shops, vehicles and business premises. It is no longer a luxury but a necessity for security,” he said. Justice Aigbona also called on the Edo State Government to encourage residents to install CCTV cameras through public enlightenment and, where possible, provide incentives to the people. He urged the government to also install CCTV cameras in public places, including markets, parks and public institutions.
