President Bola Tinubu’s Political Adviser, Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, has said the African Democratic Congress, ADC, candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is joking about his 2027 presidential ambition. Masari said Atiku’s political ambition would not be achieved through desperation. Addressing members of the Jigawa State Academics Forum, Masari said: “Even Atiku himself knows he is just joking and kidding.” Masari claimed that the All Progressives Congress, APC, is Nigeria’s dominant political party, adding that the 2027 election is a choice between continuing the Tinubu administration’s programmes and returning to the opposition. He cited infrastructure development, economic diversification, security and poverty reduction as areas the administration was prioritising. FCT Police link woman, guest house workers to disposal of man’s body

The FCT Police Command has uncovered a link between a woman and two workers at a guest house in Gwarimpa, Abuja, and the disposal of a man’s body later found beneath Katampe Bridge. The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Sanusi, disclosed this on Saturday during a briefing at the command’s headquarters in Abuja. The deceased was found along the Kubwa Expressway, near Katampe, on August 26, days after his family had reported him missing. According to Sanusi, the discovery generated speculation that the man may have been a victim of kidnapping or “one-chance” robbery. He said detectives, however, began tracing the circumstances surrounding the man’s disappearance after confirming that the body belonged to the person reported missing by his family. The investigation was aided by the deceased’s mobile phone, which was not found with the body. Sanusi said police investigators tracked the phone’s last known activity to Mrs Rukayat Muhammed, who resides in Garki Area 2. Further investigation, he said, showed that she was allegedly in a romantic relationship with the deceased and had saved his contact under the name “Safiyat.” The commissioner said the two had stayed at Good Samaritan Guest House on Second Avenue, Gwarimpa, where Muhammed allegedly found the man unresponsive. Rather than alerting the police, Sanusi said she allegedly took the deceased’s phone and left the guest house. The situation reportedly came to light after the guest house management made unsuccessful attempts to reach the occupants of the room. The room was subsequently opened, leading to the discovery of the man’s body. Abia: Police recover stolen vehicles in criminal hideout

The Abia State Police Command says it has discovered a criminal hideout where stolen vehicles are kept, in the Isuochi area of the state. According to the command, one white Dodge vehicle with registration number, Lagos APP-909KF, and a red Toyota Camry, with registration number Enu-43AZ, were recovered from the hideout. The spokesperson of the Abia State Police Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, explaining that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the members of the syndicate behind the hideout. She said the discovery was made by the operatives of the Isuochi Divisional Police Headquarters, who acted on credible and actionable intelligence, in line with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Wilfred Afolabi. “The operatives successfully carried out the operation, leading to the recovery of the vehicles. The recovered vehicles are currently in safe police custody. “Members of the public whose vehicles may have been stolen and fits the recovered vehicles description are advised to come to the Police Headquarters, Umuahia, with valid proof of ownership for identification and reclaim,” the statement said.
