Anoop Kumar Agarwal assumes additional charge of AGM, Central Railway
Anoop Kumar Agarwal has taken additional charge as Additional General Manager (AGM), Central Railway, from October 1, 2026, alongside his present responsibility as Principal Chief Electrical Engineer. Agarwal, a postgraduate in Power Electronics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, is a 1988-batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers. He began his career as Assistant Electrical Engineer with North Frontier Railway and has held several key positions across Indian Railways and other organisations during his 38-year career. Agarwal has more than 10 years of experience working in Mumbai in various capacities. He has served as Sr. Divisional Electric Engineer, Traction Rolling Stock, at Kalva, Kurla and Kalyan on Mumbai Division. At the headquarters, he has held the posts of Chief Electrical Engineer/Rolling Stock, Chief Electrical Loco Engineer and Chief Electrical Engineer/Operations. He has also worked as Divisional Electrical Engineer (Construction) and Sr. Divisional Electrical Engineer (Construction), Lumding Division, North Frontier Railway; Sr. Divisional Electrical Engineer (General), Bhusaval Division, Central Railway; and Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer (Construction), North Frontier Railway. During his deputation with MRVC from November 2011 to July 2017, Agarwal was instrumental in the procurement of 72 EMU rakes under the World Bank-funded MUTP-II project. As Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, Prayagraj, North Central Railway, Agarwal also played an important role during the Mahakumbh Mela 2025.
