Ever since O’Connell was cast, fans have speculated that he would play Murphy’s on-screen brother. In a new interview, O’Connell confirmed that the two characters are brothers, revealing a new family connection for Emmett. “A Quiet Place was, that felt like family. It’s about family, obviously,” O’Connell told Collider. “Got John Krasinski and Emily Blunt involved, and Cillian and I play brothers. There was a real familial feel to that one. It was cool, man. But horror’s popping off. People are turning out for horror. So it’s great. Yeah, it’s amazing.” Over the past few years, O’Connell has started becoming a fan favorite in the horror genre. The British actor has earned praise for his performances in Sinners and the 28 Years Later films.
